Beautiful Antique Perpignan Garnet ring in 18k Gold.
The ring features a foiled-back faceted oval Garnet. The technique to mount the garnet with foil back and triangular prongs is typical of the goldsmithing work done in the French part of Catalonia in the South West of France near the Spanish border. The ring was manufactured there in the early 20th century.
Details:
The ring is stamped with the Eagle Head French hallmark for 18k Gold at the outside of the shank. It also has a worn goldsmith mark, "poinçon de maître".
Condition:
The ring is in very good antique condition, with some signs of age: gentle surface wear and scratches to the gold shank and some wear to the stone, please inspect the photos.

The ring is a US size 7 1/2, UK size P, French size 56.5.
