Gorgeous antique locket with stunning level of detail and beautiful hair work inside.
The front features a continuous Greek key pattern in blue enamel creating an oval frame around a rosette motif at the center. The locket is entirely etched with fine engravings. From the back and the lack of symmetry of some of the patterns, it is clear this is all hand-carved.
Details:
The locket was X-ray tested. It contains 34% of gold, 31% of copper, 21% of silver and 11% of zinc. It corresponds to 8k.
Condition:
It is in excellent antique condition. It closes tightly. The top small loop + bail are new and added by my goldsmith, they are made of solid 18k gold. This part needed refurbishment.
