Wonderful Belle Epoque French Ring with an Opal cabochon, rose cut Diamonds, and signed by the maker Maurice Beck.
The ring is made of 18k yellow gold. The Opal cabochon is bezel set with milgrain details to the setting. Around a total of 14 rose cut diamonds arranged in a daisy cluster shape. The ring shoulders are also embellished by 2 rose cut diamonds on each side. The ring has a total of 18 rose cut diamonds.
That ring would make a lovely engagement ring, or a special occasion ring.
Details:
The ring dates from the Belle Epoque time period, circa 1900, and was made in France. It is stamped with the eagle head French hallmark for 18k gold, and also bears the maker mark, in French "poinçon de maître". The latter is a lozenge inside which the initials and logo of the maker can be found. Here we have MB initials with a four leaves clover, please see zoomed in photo. This is the stamp of Maurice Beck, who was active in Paris between 1898 and 1926.
Condition:
The ring is in excellent antique condition with very little wear.
