1959 18k gold ring with a round ruby cabochon from Sweden. Lovely swirly design at the front, with two interlaced gold wires around the bezel-set cabochon.
Sweden is famous for its modernist jewelry style in the 50s. That ring is a beautiful example of Scandinavian modernist design.
Details:
The ring was manufactured in Sweden. Inside the shank one can find several stamps including the maker mark, the Swedish three crowns hallmark, the gold purity stamp "18k", and the year letter I9. I9 corresponds to 1959 in the Swedish hallmark system.
Condition:
The ring is in excellent vintage condition, there is no flaw that I can see.
Measurements:
The ring is a US size 6 3/4, UK size N 1/2.
The ruby has a 5.5mm diameter.
