Napoleon III French 18k Gold Daisy Ring with Rose Cut Diamonds

Product No.: 24

CHF 1'449.00

Wonderful French Daisy Ring from the Napoleon III era.

The ring features eight rose-cut diamonds arranged in a classic, romantic, Daisy cluster. The diamonds are hand-cut and have the characteristic moody grey color of 19th century pieces. The shank is doubled and made of yellow 18k Gold. The diamonds are set in silver in closed-back settings, which indicates it dates from the mid-1800s.

Details:
The ring dates from the Napoleon III era, circa 1850, and was made in France. It is stamped with the eagle head French hallmark for 18k gold, and also bears the maker mark, in French "poinçon de maître". The latter is a lozenge inside which the initials and logo of the maker can be found. It is hard to read but I believe the initials are CF and the logo a tilted moon crescent, please see the two last photos.

Condition:
The ring is in great condition given its age. I assume it was worn very little, because the shank has no sign of thinning and the hallmarks are crisp.

Measurements:
The ring is a US size 5 1/2, UK size L, French size 52.
Weight: 2.8g
