Wonderful Antique Navette Perpignan Garnet Ring in 18k Gold.
The ring features an incredible marquise-cut central Garnet in a shade that varies from red-orange to purple depending on the lightning. It is surrounded by 14 round-cut Garnets, the latter having a true purple color. The ring shoulders are decorated.
The design is typical of the French part of Catalonia in the South West of France near the Spanish border. The ring was manufactured there in the late 19th century.
Details:
The ring's stamp has worn off but tests as 18k Solid Gold which was the only allowed gold purity in France at the time it was made.
Condition:
The ring is in very good antique condition, with some signs of age: there are multiple small scratches to the central Garnet, which I believe are well captured in the zoomed-in pictures, please inspect them. Gentle surface wear and scratches on the gold shank as well.
