Wonderful Marquise-cut Perpignan Garnet in an incandescent red shade ring.
The Garnet is mounted using a traditional foiled-back technique with triangular prongs typical of the French part of Catalonia in the South West of France near the Spanish border. The foil back allows the stone to showcase its reddest hue of fire, not for the faint of heart :-)
Details:
The ring is stamped with both the Eagle head French hallmark for 18k gold and the maker mark, "poinçon de maître", at the outside of the shank.
Condition:
The ring is in excellent vintage condition, with no flaw to note.

The ring is a US size 7 3/4, UK size P 1/2, French size 57.5.
