Beautiful hand-carved Cameo featuring the Greek Goddess Artemis.
The mount is crafted in solid 18k gold.
In Greek mythology, Artemis is the daughter of Zeus and Leto and the twin sister of Apollo. She is the goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, wild animals, the moon, and chastity. That is why she is often depicted holding a bow and arrows, and a moon crescent above her head.

The cameo is vintage.
It is stamped with the eagle head at the top loop, the French hallmark for 18k solid gold, and the maker mark or "poinçon de maître" in French, initial LO with a crown in between and in a triangle frame.
Condition:
